Survey surfing.
The shortest distance between points a and b is a straight line. Pilots know that, and usually adhere to it. But sometimes i am lucky to find myself over this kind of terrific scenery (while island hopping...) instead of flying over the boring featureless vast oceans, which falls on the straight line.
