Some points for general discussion...
1. Ways of obtaining expert photographers to visit Maldives and teach.
2. Holding joint exhibitions.
3. Finding ways of promoting Maldivian photographers from a single powerful pool.
Or a web address. From where clients and buyers will be able to access and choose. Yeah, more like a directory of names and contacts. With samples.
4. Organising of photo trips and tours to interesting places.
5. Does anybody know anything about 'benk lui loanu...'?
6. An ebay local rep? For ordering camera stuff for others. I have seen products at Maale shops at 3 times the price on the internet.
7. And... attracting more 'skin' into flickr.

In the smokers room with Zero Degree Atoll.
An all time favourite music band in Maldives.
This was in the airport lounge... yesterday, enroute to the Capital island.
I must have left out some non-smoking members outside. But there is hope to catch them in action. There is an event coming up on the 18th of May, I heard.
Coconut graveyard.
Cutdown trees making way for space to build homes.
Spotted in Feydhoo island yesterday. Oh, all pics are from yesterday.
I am back in 'crack' city.
Havent you heard? The crack that was reported back in the late 80's in the reef of Maale island has been widening, it seems. No wonder. Possibly from the weight of all those big beutiful buildings... Long story. Maybe some other time folks.

Seasons change within a matter of hours.
Photos from yesterday. Sometime between 4.00 and 5.30.
The sky has turned grey and it is raining as I write.

New America Media dot Org Photo of the day.
Do Practically Nothing by Ahmed Zahid.
For the islanders this do-nothing thing was an art-form inherited from ancient ancestors of the shipwreck age. Today this art has been approved, encouraged and stylised by popular media. And unemployment.
Youngsters are being educated Cambridge style with Cambridge expectations. Youngsters who pass Cambridge exams, are shocked to find out the society they enter, does not have Intel corps, and HSBCs that they so fondly fantasised from textbooks.
The alternatives they find on the job market are too islandish and too lowly to be even considered ‘proper’.
What a good excuse to kill away a Tuesday afternoon and practice art, by the park. The art of doing nothing.
